Welcome to the Colorado Cross Family Blog

Great news! We are starting a blog. (This is Sara writing). We want you to have updates about us, and as you know, we aren't great at keeping in touch. Additionally, I love to journal and would like for the kids to be able to read it all someday. Unless the world wide web crashes someday, a blog is a good option for us.

So, here's what's been happening with the Colorado Cross fam. On March 9th (Ash Wednesday), Karolina turned one! It was a very exciting day for her. Grandpa Cross celebrated with us and gave Karolina her first cell phone! We ate lots of a carrot cake shaped like a ladybug, there were balloons sent from Gma & Gpa Upah, and we were joined on Skype by Great-Grandma Maxine, Grandma Patty & Grandpa Stacy, and Grandma & Grandpa Upah. Very exciting! We got to celebrate again when Gma Patty and family came to visit on March 15th, which was also cousin Tyler's birthday. Karolina really liked chocolate cake!

This week, Karolina started walking. Like her brother, she has waited to attempt the feat until she could stand up on her own. Click the video link at the bottom of the page to watch for yourself! Also in the last couple of weeks, Colby started playing pretend. It has been very exciting, and I imagine liberating for a little boy who isn't allowed to have toys in bed, to be able to take his friends, trucks and dogs anywhere! Last night, he went to wrestling practice with Luke last night, which was pretty exciting for him. This is the last week for coaching middle school wrestling; then it's just freestyle, which will continue two nights a week until June. Next weekend Luke is hosting a tournament here at the high school, so that should be fun.

I gave my first presentation to the Eagle County School District School Board last night and found out that, despite huge budget cuts, I will have a job next year. This is good news since I have begun working on my Master's Degree in Counseling and will be able to complete my practicum and internship while working in the school counseling office.

It's snowing here, again! "Snow today, gone tomorrow," is what we say in Gypsum. We've accumulated as much this month as we have all winter but the only evidence remaining is some well-watered green grass that is starting to come up. With the exception of snow days, the weather has been warm, in the 50s and 60s. That's all for now. I'll post pictures and video of a walking baby soon!
